Other FAQs:
Why are you required to order an open key for funded devices?
In July of 2015, Medicare (CMS) updated the National Coverage Determination (NCD) for Speech Generating Device, which allows Medicare beneficiaries the ability to open their SGDs and grants access to non-covered services such as the internet, video conferencing etc. These services are clearly noted in the NCD as non-covered services by Medicare and must be paid for by the beneficiary.
Tobii Dynavox, nor any other supplier, should be providing an open key to a beneficiary at no cost due to prohibiting law. Please note that no employee of Tobii Dynavox is allowed to purchase an open key for a beneficiary.  As Medicare providers, violation of this policy is considered fraudulent.

When I buy an open key, how does the charge appear on my bank/credit card statement?
The charge appears as Tobii Dynavox LLC.

We have tax exempt status.  Will this be accounted for when purchasing open keys online?
If you need to purchase an open key exempt of tax, or with a Purchase Order or check, please reach out to Customer Service directly at 1-800-344-1778 or at CSS@tobiidynavox.comThis purchase process will NOT support those payment needs and only supports taxable, credit card orders.

After scanning the QR code/entering the new product key, my device is still locked.  What should I do?
You may have an older version of the configuration manager.  In order to update this, you will need to run Update Notifier.  Typically, Update Notifier can be found on your device’s desktop.  Once everything is up to date, run configuration manager again it should unlock the device.  If that doesn't do it, make sure you are connected to the internet.  If all else fails, contact Technical Support at 1-800-344-1778 or support.na@tobiidynavox.com.

I am trying to order the open key on a closed Windows device.  However, when I go to enter my credit card info those fields won't finish loading and I can't enter anything.
This is due to intouch lock blocking access.  At the moment, you'll want to order the open key online from another computer.  We plan to address this in the near future, though.

What are the full instructions to unlock a device once I have the new product key on win10 and win11 devices?
In order to update your device, you will need to run through these steps with Update Notifier.  Typically Update Notifier can be found on your device’s desktop.
  1. Open Update Notifier
  2. If you get a message stating that your system is up to date, select Done and move onto step 5.  If you do have updates available, select the Download button.
  3. Once all software completes downloading, select the Install button.
  4. When installation of all updates complete, Update Notifier will restart and then perform another check for updates.  If there are no new updates, select Done.
  5. Open Configuration Manager (typically Configuration Manager can be found on your device’s desktop or you can use the Windows search box to find it).
  6. At the Welcome screen, select Get Started.
  7. You should now be on the Manual key entry screen.  Your serial number should already be filled in.  Tap the Product Key field to place the blinking cursor there.
  8. Hit Ctrl+A on the keyboard to select the entire key then hit Delete to remove the old Product Key.
  9. Type in the new Tobii Product Key that you received from Customer Support.
  10. Double-check to make sure the key is correct then tap Next.
  11. Select Accept to acknowledge the safety details.
  12. Choose whether you want to log into Windows automatically or manually, tap Next.  (This can be changed later on in Windows settings if needed)
    1. Pro Tip – You can leave the password field blank if you choose Automatic even if you have a password.
  13. Configuration Manager will now begin setting up and unlocking your device.  Your device may reboot at the end of this process.  Once the device finishes rebooting, your device should be unlocked.
