On the Indi with TD Snap- How Do I Backup and Restore (Import and Export) A User Profile
To make a full backup of a TD Snap user profile for transferring to another Indi, you will need a USB flash drive and a Micro USB to standard USB (female) adapter or an Internet connection. Then, please complete the following steps:
On the existing device:
- Open TD Snap
- In the upper right corner, select Settings (the gear with the pencil to open the Settings panel at the bottom of the screen).
- If Settings does not appear, drag up the three small horizontal lines on the bottom - center of the screen.
- Select User.
- On the right, select the name of the current user.
- The current user is designated with a checkmark. Select the Save icon (which looks like a computer disk) that appears to the right of the current user.
- Select Browse.
- Navigate to and select the TobiiDynavox folder within Documents.
- Select the Select Folder button.
- Select Backup.
- Select Done (when it is completed).
- Exit TD Snap.
- Copy the backup file from the TobiiDynavox folder selected in step 8 to the flash drive connected to the Indi or upload it to your MyTobiiDynavox account by going to mytobiidynavox.com.
On the new device:
- Download the backup from mytobiidynavox.com or connect the flash drive the contains the backup file to the Indi.
- Copy the backup file to the TobiiDynavox folder.
- Open TD Snap
- In the upper right corner, select Settings (the gear with the pencil to open the Settings panel at the bottom of the screen).
- Swipe up on the three lines of the Settings panel if the settings are not visible..
- Select User
- To the right of User, select the name of the current user.
- Select New User.
- Select Existing User.
- Navigate to and select the backup file in the TobiiDynavox folder.
- Select the Open button.
- If you are presented with a message that states, “The user you are trying to restore already exists on the device” – choose the option that best fits your situation: Create a copy --- or --- Replace the existing user.
Please Note: the name of the backup file within Windows will start with the user name of the user in TD Snap, followed by the date and time in this format:
